Data Download Guide

This guide explains how to:

  • Obtain or switch a Mnova license
  • Activate Mnova on your computer
  • Install and configure CrossFTP
  • Download your NMR data from Emory servers

Follow the steps in order to ensure successful setup and data access.

If you do not yet have a Mnova license—or need to switch licenses—you must first register your computer with the Mnova license server.

To obtain or switch a Mnova license:

  1. Download a free trial of Mnova NMR from mestrelab.com
  2. Open Mnova. If an error message appears, you may close it.
  3. In Mnova, go to Help   License Manager .
  4. Locate and record your computer’s Host ID. You may copy and paste the Host ID for accuracy.
  5. Complete the Mnova License Form using your Host ID.

After your Host ID is registered with the IT‑managed license server, a license file will be sent to you by email.

Once you receive your Mnova license file, you must activate Mnova on the Emory campus network.

To activate Mnova:

  1. Download and save the Mnova license file to your computer.
  2. Connect to the Emory campus network:
    • Use a wired Ethernet connection, or
    • Connect to EmoryUnplugged WiFi
  3. Open Mnova and follow the on‑screen instructions to install the license.
    • Alternatively, go to Help   Get / Install Licenses.
  4. Complete the activation process.

After activation, Mnova can be used offline for up to three months. After three months, you must reconnect to the Emory campus network to reactivate.

CrossFTP is used to securely download NMR data from the server.

Download CrossFTP from Emory Software Express:

  1. Visit Emory Software Express.
  2. Log in using your Emory Network credentials.
  3. Scroll down and click Agree.
  4. Locate CrossFTP 1.99.6 and click Download.
  5. Double‑click the downloaded file to install CrossFTP.

Once installed, configure CrossFTP as follows:
